In the fall I will be applying to the engineering schools at NC State, Virginia Tech, and University of Florida but I have always heard of how competitive it is and I am starting to doubt my chances. I am a junior girl in high school and am wondering if I should take a shot at it, or if I don't have a good chance.

My GPA is a 4.2, and I have gotten all A's in my underclassmen high school career except for a B+ in World History Reg. Freshman Yr and B+'s in English Honors & Chemistry Honors sophomore year.
I have always taken the really hard classes to challenge myself, and so this year I am taking all honors and 2 AP classes. Although this year I am predicted to get the following grades:
Enviro. Science Honors:A-
English 3 Honors: B+
AP Pyschology: A-
AP US History: B
Spanish 4: B
Pre-Calc Honors: A+

Because of these B's my junior year in high school because it is the most important year, I am afraid it will prevent me from getting into engineering school at Virginia Tech and other places. I have many extra curricular activities including Basketball, Cross Country, Volleyball, Envirothon/Science Olympiad, Girl Scouts, and I have attended engineering camps but I feel like this will not weigh out the grades I have gotten because Virginia Tech is a grade based school from what I have heard. I got an 1850 on the SAT and a 29 on the ACT from my first time taking them, so I know they can improve. I was wondering if I had a good chance on engineering school or if my B's from Junior year will turn out to haunt me. If you have any questions I am glad to answer them, and any advice I will appreciate it. Also if you know of any schools with engineering that I would be fit for with a chances with my grades and scores. Thanks.
