Slight Reach to possible Match depending on program.

My selected major is computer engineering

There is a lot of competition for the slots available in CE. They usually like to look at the complete body of applicants before making decisions in those types of instances. Drusba, may chime in on whether CE may auto-defer during the Priority period. He calls CE an “impacted” program, which, I assume, means heavily applied to. With the goal of trying to build the best applicant offer pool as possible, I wouldn’t be surprised if that meant that most eligible applicants would get a deferral until they could look at every applicant. I wouldn’t worry about it though, your subscore in Math is outstanding, and they consider that when making decisions. If you don’t get an offer to CE, if you’ve chosen LAS Mathematics and Computer Science as an alternate, you are fully qualified for that. And, frankly, the prestige of that program is rapidly approaching that of CE, and, in my opinion, allows the student to focus more on a software-oriented curriculum, as opposed to being forced to take a physics and chem sequence that have nothing to do with obtaining employment in an enterprise computing environment, unless, of course, you want to build the hardware. For those who want to become experts in databases, data structures, systems analysis and design, the LAS program is more math-oriented and is ideal.

low reach for oos, high match for in state.

Bill, instate or out of state is not a consideration.

Accepted for CE.

Grats life!
