Chances for University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for Engineering?
biomed or chemical engineering?

Wow, your stats look a lot like mine did. Your rank is spot-on, don't lose it. I had gotten in with an ACT 29, but later got a 32, so once you retake it and get into the 30's, you'll be even more set. I also did Cross Country and if anything you're in a better position than I was with this summer program.

I say you have an 80% chance to get in, depends mostly on 2 things:
- your 300-word statements
- the college becoming more prestigious next year

Yeah I got into the engineering college with similar stats, except I had a 32 on the ACT and 3.9 unweighted GPA. I finished 8th in my class of like 100, so that's basically identical to you.

I think you're fine since you've taken the hardest classes offered.

Be sure to apply as early as possible. Take advantage of the early application times.

I hope you get in, it's an amazing school.

I know a friend that got in with a 33 ACT...but his transcript/grades were abysmal. He took AP Bio and Pre-Calc senior year, ended up with C's in both, but still managed to get in the engineering school.

So, I don't see why you can't get in. You seem to have better credentials than he did anyway.
