Chances for English (ED)?

Hello! Before I jump in, I just want to say that I’m aware of my low GPA (for UChicago) and SAT scores. That said, I just retook the SAT last weekend and am taking the ACT this month. My college counselor has placed me (on a scale of safety-likely-possible-reach-far reach) at “possible” bordering on “likely,” which he approximates to a 60-65% chance of getting in, but I’m not entirely sure where he’s getting that from and I would love to have a second (or third or fourth) pair of eyes chance me!

I completely forgot to mention this under ECs, but I was co-vice president of my junior class.

I think your counselor has it about right. Given your URM hook and the fact that you are applying ED, if your scores get a little better, I think you are likely to get an offer. Good luck and God bless!!!

your sat scores could hurt you, but provided you get a better score then it is definitely possible

did you get in?

@bubblepop12444 I did, actually! Someone on another chance me thread that I posted told me I had less than a 3% chance of getting in, but here I am  Just goes to show that chance me’s don’t really mean a whole lot on the grand scale of things.
