nursing major
out of state

to be honest, your Sat scores might be marginal for an out of state student. you should take the ACT and retake the SAT since the school takes the best score in each subject in the test and makes a composite score…

i thought it would be easier for OOS because they want the money

No, FSU takes 90% instate and 10% out of state, give or take. It is much harder to get in for OOS. And in the state of FL and esp at FSU, nursing is VERY HARD TO GET INTO. You are not accepted into the nursing school as a freshman. It is a limited access program that you apply to once you have been at FSU taking classes. It is very competitive You apply in fall of sophomore year for acceptance into the major as a junior AND you are competing not just with other FSU students but with sophmore students at colleges and universities across the state. Those who are sophomores at FSU apply to 4-6 schools total to get accepted into the nursing major, and many leave to compete their education elsewhere after two years. Many only apply to FSU, don’t get accepted, and spend junior year getting their GPA up so they can apply to OTHER U’s for the following year, now a year behind.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but my D knows many friends at FSU who did not get into FSU nursing after two years at FSU.

I think that unless you apply for summer, you don’t have a strong chance of getting into FSU. And if you apply for summer, you may be deferred until May.
