Chances for FAU (Need advice before I apply)

I want to get into FAU (Would be devastated if i didn't) but I don't think i'm up to par with there sub-par standards.

GPA:3.06 (actually higher)
WGPA:3.35 (Maybe higher)
ACT:24 (will retake)
SAT:1570 (will retake)
2 Relatives graduated from FAU (if that helps much)
75+ hours of community service
Dual Enrollment student & taking Several AICE classes
When I finish my 2 classes next week my GPA should be higher.

Will I be good enough to apply for Fall 2012 or Should I just try summer 2012

Honestly, I think you may be in good shape for FAU.

What you need to do:
Raise your GPA up by the end of your first semester. If for some reason they don’t feel that you belong there, the midyear report with improvement may help substantially. If you can, try to get straight A’s or no more than two B’s during your final year of high school. Senioritis is not allowed.

Your ACT and SAT look just fine for FAU, but retaking will definitely help. If you can get a 26+, then you should be good. The better scores here may buff out the rough GPA.

Your community service looks good, but really doesn’t stand out because Florida Bright Futures requires everyone in the state to do it. You may want to do something out of the ordinary to help, too.

The Dual Enrollment looks splendid, so this may actually get you into the school. Your hard work and motivation are good indicators of an excellent student.

I think if you do everything I suggested, write a nice essay, get your scores/GPA up, you should be fine for the fall of 2012. :)

Thank you so much!

After my first semester of HS It will definitely be much higher.
