Chances for Film - Thanks

Hey y'all

I haven't really frequented the NYU boards at all, but I just got rejected ED from Northwestern University and I'm really kinda overwhelmed, as I'm sure you can understand. I'm now planning on applying to Tisch Film at NYU, but I really have no idea what the NYU admission standards are like.

Here's a brief overview of my stats, if you need anything else I'd be happy to provide, or if you have any more info about the Film admissions standards or procedures that'd be great I would search through the forum for such things, but honestly I'm in quite a melancholy mood and don't have the energy. I apologize. Heh.

GPA (weighted, I believe): 3.52, Ranked in top 34ish% of class
SAT: 2280/1480
National Merit Scholar
LOTS of EC with Drumline
Solid Rec Letters
and I'm confident that I can write a good short story and essay for the supplemental.

Sorry if this is not enough info, whatever else you need to hear from me just let me know.

Thanks a lot, guys. I'm really just kinda trying to sort this all out after my disappointment.

Sorry for being such a bummer.
Haha.

Thanks again.

You've excluded 1/2 of whats important to be considered for NYU Film: Your portfolio. What is your film experience? Why major in Film? what were you planning on majoring at Northwestern? Your portfolio is 1/2 of what is considered for NYU.

Yeah... Like Radio Rabbit said, your portfolio makes up 1/2 of your decision. Otherwise, everything else looks good, but your GPA is a bit low. This can easily be made up for with a good portfolio.
