Chances for Florida, Duke, Vanderbilt, Cal Berkeley? Maybe Ivy League?

I'm a 16 year old junior at a Florida Public school that is nationally recognized.

Waiting on PSAT and SAT scores for this year- predicted to get National Merit based on PSAT scores from last year, and predicted to get around a 2000 on the SAT as a first time taker.

WGPA- 4.25 (for all three years of school, 4.6 for just junior year. after this year, weighted will go up to a 4.4)
UWGPA- 3.8
AP SCORES- 5 on APHG, 4 on APW, 3 on APCG
Taking 4 AP's this year- APUSH, AP Calc AB, AP Lang, and AP Psych
Rank- 34/680, top 5%

Senior Year Courses: AP ECON/GOV, AP Lit, AP Stat, AP Enrivo, Yearbook (possibly AP Euro and APAH)

Awards- two Academic Athlete Awards every year (will be 6 this year), Principal's Honor Roll each year, AP Scholar with Distinction, 2013 FSPA Silver Crown recipient (yearbook), 2013 CSPA Pacemaker award winner (yearbook), letter from the governor for perfect FCAT scores

Sports- Varsity Soccer, Varsity Track & Field (missing this year because of injury, so 3 years of both), premier travel team soccer for 8 years, Ultimate Frisbee club

Clubs- National Honor Society, English Honor Society, Quill and Scroll, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club

Hobbies- Classical piano lessons for 10+ years, Animal Care Volunteering, occasional volunteering for church

Leadership Positions- 2013-2014 & 2014-2015 Yearbook sports section editor on an award winning book recognized by Columbia Scholastic Press Association and Florida Scholastic Press Association, Club soccer captain 2013-2014

Other- World traveler, Blogger (social justice focus, over 1000 followers), runner, biker, marathon hopeful (this stuff might help me with essays?)

Teacher Recs:

1- Yearbook adviser w/ a really close relationship with my family and I- excellent writer as well

2- retired AP Lang teacher w/ a doctorate in literature, studied at FSU and taught at Rollins College

I will be applying for financial aid. I am a white female with no legacies to any of these schools.

Please chance me!! I'll chance you back. I really appreciate all serious responses with suggestions, constructive criticism, advice, etc. Thanks again.

Bump

Bump!

Your grades and ECs are solid overall, so yes, you certainly have a chance at all the schools you mentioned, as well as the Ivies. Try for a higher SAT score, and then you’ll be all set.

The weakest part of your stats is the predicted test scores. Did you get your junior PSAT back yet?

@3boystogo hopefully getting them this week. I’ll keep the thread updated.

PSAT SCORE- 195

Berkeley you will likely be full pay or if you get anything the minimum will be the oos fee ok 23k ,plus 10k loans and self help plus your EFC. Research before you waste time on oos publics.

You’re a match at UF. You’ll need to score better (than predicted by your PSAT) on the SAT to be a match at Duke or Vanderbilt. For example, at Vandy:

For the Middle 50% of admitted students:
SAT Critical Reading—710-780
SAT Math—720-800
SAT Writing—680-770

Good Luck!

Because you are out of state, Cal is looking very unlikely. Ivy leagues/Duke are high reaches as well. You should be good for UF. Vanderbilt is low reach.
