Hello everyone. I'm wondering what my chances are for getting in, I will be a high school senior this fall. I live in MN w/ mom, but dad lives in FL so I have in state tuition and fl pre paid plan.

My super scored ACT is a 26: 28 english, 25 math, 27 reading, 24 science, 10 writing.
For junior year my weighted GPA was 3.75 and unweighted was 3.66
I took AP human geo and US history this year, scores are out end of this week. Next year taking AP Psych and comparative gov't.
My school doesn't do honors, but we do have 'enriched' so this year I took E Bio and E spanish 4 and last year I took E English.
I don't know freshman/sophomore gpa off the top of my head, but they are similar.

Extracurriculars/volunteer:
Freshman: Varsity gymnastics; lettered. 12 hrs volunteering at rehabilitation center, orchestra/ runner up best of site.
Sophomore: JV competition cheer; lettered, symphony orchestra, volunteered 24 hrs at cancer center, 20 hrs girls athletic association student coach in my city.
Junior: Varsity competition cheer; lettered, symphony orchestra; orch leadership council, 20 hrs student coaching again, ping pong club co president
Senior: Varsity 1 comp cheer co captain, symph orch, leadership council, probably going to do chamber orch, will student coach again and now member of the student board for the athletic association.

Let me know, thank you!

I would make absolutely sure that you would be in-state first. Residency rules have changed in the last few years and FSU may say that since you live in MN (and attend school there) that you aren’t in-state… and they’d kinda have a point on that. And the best part about everything? If the school says you’re out of state, there’s not much you can do about it.

[You need to calculate your FSU GPA as well](http://cyberguidance.net/college/recalgpa.pdf). One thing that is concerning is that you don’t know what your GPA for your high school is, and that your weighted and unweighted GPA were so close- it would suggest to me that either your course rigor or your grades in the challenging courses aren’t all that great.

okay thanks! I know I get in state because I am listed as his dependent. Also called FSU to clear up questions about pre paid and they said when I apply just to put my fl address down instead of mn.
I will recalculte gpa using that link, thank you for providing it!

I was admitted in the Summer term with similar statistics i had a bit of a lower gpa and I took the SAT but what I think got me in was my extracurriculars so really find a way to emphasize those and write a killer essay and you should be fine, if not for fall, then most likely for summer! I know they’re trying to raise admission standards though
