Chances for future chemist

hey yall thanks for takin a quick look. throw me back a few words, would greatly appreciate it.

I have aspirations of delving into chemistry and coming back up for air once i've managed to develop an agricultural based alternative for petrochemicals and petrofuels (e.g. gas/diesel) im interested in taking chemistry and some chemical engineering at tech and was wonderin if I could get in, and if i could get some kind of money (ill be frank). my rents are tight pocketed even though they have cash, and dont really care much for my college aspirations, so financial assistance is pretty much out---- but who knows perhaps my academics and extra currics are good enough for a scholarship?

thanks a bunch and hope to see ya next year!

I think you have a pretty good shot at getting in.

I assume from your profile that you're a resident of Georgia? If so, you should be eligible for the HOPE scholarship, which pays for your in-state tuition plus a small stipend for books. You have to have a GPA>3.0 to keep the scholarship. So all you're looking at is housing + food + misc expenses. The first two come out to ~$8000/year.

If you are an instate resident I wouldn't expect too much extra money from the school. With HOPE and all they don't really spend a lot for instate, save for exceptional out of state people to intice them to come and then give less and less to them each year.

Your stats seem fine. I'd recommend majoing in ChemE verses just Chem, more money in the department, more jobs, etc. COE is king here.
