Hi, and thanks for taking the time to read this. I’m interested in applying to Georgetown mainly because of its political science program (and apparent opportunities for internships given its location) and its beautiful campus/neighborhood.
I guess the obvious question, is what are my chances given the credentials described below?
Year: Junior
Gender: Male
Race: White
Location: Southwestern CT
Weighted GPA: 4.15
Class Rank: Not available
SAT: 2240 (800 CR, 770 W, 670 M) - will take again, with improvement in math perhaps closer to 2300 (though that could be too bullish given my deficits in this particular area)
APs: Will be taking Biology and American History this year (given my grades in those classes, I expect 5s)
Junior Classes:
Honors French, AP Bio, AP Am. History, Honors English, Precalculus
Planned Senior Classes:
AP Human Geography, AP Economics, AP Language, Calculus, AP Law and Government, AP French
ECs:
-American Voices Medal, National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards (pretty prestigious, Whoopi Goldberg and Chelsea Clinton spoke at awards ceremony)
-Eagle Scout
-Editor and Chief of School Newspaper
-National Honor Society
-Volunteered for Bernie Sanders campaign
-5th in CT State Debate Championships
-Performed Epidemiological Research at Columbia Medical Center
-Came in 6th place for said research at state science fair
Thanks again for taking the time to read through all of this! I’m of course happy to provide input for other people as well.
