Hi everyone! I really need your opinion on my chances to Georgia Tech. I really need to get into that college.

Race: Asian
SAT (highest scores): CR-640, Math-760, Writing-710, Essay-9 --- TOTAL: 2110
ACT (taking it again in September): Composite-31, English-34, Math-32, Science-31, Reading-26, Eng w/Essay-31
GPA: all As, so GT Scale: 4.5
Total of APs and Honors classes (Including senior year)-20
ECs-very strong
SAT IIs: Math II-790, French-670, World History-670, and taking a science one October
I just mainly need help on the standardized test scores part. I'm not too worried about community service, work, and my ECs.

I agree your chances are excellent. I would even recommend applying early as you have a shot at the President’s scholarship. To help your chances for the scholarship, try for better SAT/ACT scores and work hard on the essays and showing your strengths on the GT application. Good Luck!

It seems that although GT lists literally dozens of scholarships, only one of them (the President’s scholarship) is strictly merit-based and all the others rely on need. Is this true or am I misunderstanding the website?

@Moreover: Thanks for the heads up! When I called GT, it told me that my SAT/ACT score is 2240. Because I got a 34 on ACT English, it replaced my horrible SAT Reading score. I’m definitely going to apply early for GT, but do you think I can aim higher? What other schools do you guys think I can apply to?

@artemis95: I have no idea. It probably is true though.

Why are you interested in Georgia Tech? Is it because it’s instate or because of a particular major/program offered there? Is there a particular region of the country you want to be in? Do you need financial aid? Anything else important to you?

Knowing the answers to those questions could make it easier for people to make other suggestions.

Honestly I think you have an excellent chance. Don’t make yourself crazy worrying because they have every reason to take you. Your standardized test scores are better than you think, esp. that 760 on SAT math.
