Chances for getting in for Fall 2013???

<p>I recently received a letter from MSU saying that said this</p>

<p>Thank you for your interest in Michigan State University. We appreciate your patience with our
review process, and are happy to inform you that you are eligible for admission to the University.
Your application may still be considered for fall admission; however, we are prepared to
guarantee your admission for the spring semester 2014.
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to become a member of the Spartan Family. You are
part of a particularly strong pool of nearly 32,000 applicants. Due to this record application
volume, the successful retention of our current students, and our commitment to provide quality
and accessible courses for our undergraduate students, we must carefully monitor the number of
admission offers extended for the Fall Semester.
If you still wish to be considered for possible fall admission you must inform our office of your
intentions by May 1. After confirming your intention to remain in consideration for the fall 2013,
you will be notified of your application status on or before June 30.
Students who do not respond by May 1 will no longer be considered for fall 2013 admission and
will forfeit their guarantee of a spring semester 2014 admission.
We encourage you to consider alternate educational plans for fall. Visit Spring (January)

<p>What do you think my chances are for getting in for the fall?????</p>

<p>I’m not certain that anyone could give you a definite answer. There are several factors that come into play. Different majors require different prerequisite classes for their limited enrollment majors for example. Space could open up for business but not for engineering or vice versa.</p>

<p>What I am curious about is whether your application status changed online or not. Mine has been under review for a couple weeks and I’m wondering if I will receive one of these letters or see a decision posted online first.</p>

<p>@abh8812 Same here man, mine has been under review for almost a month now. I applied the first week of January too. People I know that applied in February have also heard back…makes me worried. But that also might mean they are more extensively reviewing our applications for Fall of 2013 acceptance…you never know.</p>
