If anyone was or is in a similar situation as I am, ( as depicted below) I would love to hear from you.

Major: English
Overall GPA: 3.72
Major GPA: 4.00
Prerequisite: Will be done by end of spring
Igetc: Will be done by end of spring
Programs: TAP, Phi Theta Kappa
Work: In a law office for 6 years

I had a shaky start to school and managed to accumulate 10 Ws. 9 of the Ws are from two years ago, but during fall semester I received a W.

Is there any other information I should provide?
I will chance back if desired : D

I can’t speak on how UCLA will perceive the W’s but I will say that you have impressive EC’s/work experience. W’s are certainly not your friend. The main thing is though that it was a ‘shaky start’ and not ‘still shaky.’ As long as you can explain your W’s and how you’ve learned from your mistakes, They shouldn’t affect you too much. I mean, on the bright side you do have a great GPA, and good EC’s/Work like I said. If the only thing decreasing your chances is those W’s, I’d say you’re in pretty good shape.

the UCs don’t really care much about Ws. I’ve heard of people getting in with more Ws than that. Still, it would probably help to explain that on your application.

With that said, your TAP certification, GPA, and pre-req completion pretty much guarantee that you’ll get accepted at UCLA. TAP makes a big difference in the admissions process.

Yeah, the UC’s really don’t care about W’s. IMO, the only time I’d think the UC’s would view W’s negatively is if someone has an excessive amount of them in their major. Sounds like you will get in though so I wouldn’t fret!
