@peanutbuttersand Your stats look very qualified. I have a good friend whose son just got admitted to UIUC CS and he did a paid internship at a company as a mobile app developer. If I were you, I would try to find a summer job related to software development or do a personal software development project. It will show your strong interest in CS. Good luck…

I would say that’s a pretty good resume for CS at UIUC or most top tier universities. Being female may also help like a URM, as UIUC had stated they were trying to boost their CS enrollment to nearly 50-50 male-female. Nothing should be considered a safety to UIUC CS-Engineering, but it is definitely a good target program for you. One possible consideration for summer or fall is some sort of relevant EC in CS, like a club, competition, internship, boot camp, etc.

You may also consider applying to those top tier programs that might offer you a merit scholarship. Maybe Carnegie Mellon, Michigan, Maryland, USC, Georgia Tech, Purdue, etc. You might get lucky and earn something making it cheaper than UIUC or even a full ride if UIUC doesn’t offer as much. Good luck!
