I am a current high school junior and I am looking to apply to USC (University of Southern California) next year, but my grades are rather poor. I'm wondering if I even have a shot at getting into Annenberg for Public Relations (Music Industry and Communications as second and third choices).

TOTAL GPA: 3.76 (weighted), 3.51 (non-weighted)
Academic GPA for grades 10-12 so far: 3.64 (weighted), 3.27 (non-weighted)
(note: second semester of junior year has not been calculated into the GPAs)

Current classes: AP Language and Composition, IB Math, Spanish 3, AP Psychology, Photography, AP US History, Journalism/Newspaper

Past AP Classes: AP Human Geography, AP European History

Next year, I plan on taking AP Literature, AP Music Theory, AP Photography, AP Computer Science, AP Economics, and Marketing / Business Law.

Extra-Curriculars: Operation Smile Club (vice-president), Junior State of America debate club (publicist), Youth for Change Club (president), Orchestra, Journalism/Newspaper (front-page News Editor), Guitar

SAT I: 2070

PSAT score: 208; entered into National Merit Scholar competition

100+ volunteer hours

I plan on majoring in Public Relations, Music Industry, or possibly International Business.

Also working against me is the fact that I am Asian.

How hard is it to get into the Public Relations or Music Industry programs? I know I probably don't stand much of a chance, but I'd like to hear your opinions anyway. Please be honest, and thanks very much.
