Chances for GTech, Emory, UMiami, Virginia, and Florida schools

I am a student at Broward Community College, Honors (South Florida) and will be transferring to a 4 year school for the fall of ’09. I would appreciate if anyone here could look at my stats and tell me which schools are considered reaches and safeties for me. The major I'm applying with is industrial/systems engineering at all and economics at Emory.

I am applying to:

Reach:
Georgia Tech
Emory
U Virginia
U Miami

Match:
U Central Florida-Honors
U Florida
Florida State

Safety:
U South Florida
U Central Florida

College stats:

Location: Florida
School Type: Community College (Honors)
Gender, Ethnicity: Male, Hispanic
Economic: About $100,000 per year
GPA: 3.9 after 35 credits (high school: 3.9 weighted, 3.3 unweighted)
Rank: N/A (150/600 in high school)
SAT: 610CR, 660M, 550W = 1820 (from 12th grade, I can retake while in Spain and do much better)

Other stuff:

-In the Honors program of the community college
-Vice President of the Honors Student Committee (focuses on community outreach and acts as the core of the Honors Institute)
-Wrestled 3 years in high school
-First generation/first in family in college
-Avid runner, having completed 2 half marathons and training now for the next one.

Work Experience:

Summer camp
Pool and BBQ store - physical work (filling chlorine jugs and propane tanks)
Advertising agency - ground operations for airplane advertising banners
Restaurant - bus boy and dish washer

Other:

Had planned on joining the Marine Corps out of high school, but left kidney failed just months before leaving for boot camp, which was completely unexpected. That’s why I’m at a community college; I never even applied to college. This could be an overcoming adversity topic for an essay. I've also become much more dedicated as a student/upward trend.

I'd also have two or three great letters of rec from Honors faculty and administrators.

I'm not incredibly familiar with the difficulty of transferring, but you have an amazing college GPA which leads me to believe that you have a good shot at all of those schools. Your SATs are average, but some schools don't even look at them (or anything high school) after you have a certain amount of college credits. You're on the right track -- this year you should just focus on getting a little bit more involved at school to complete your application. Good luck!

Thanks beach baby!

Can I get few more replies in here before I let this thread go?

Thanks!

Bump! Just a few more opinions please.

Anyone? Bump?

You college GPA is very good and if you transfer with your AA, I think you have a very good shot at the schools you listed. I'd say you are in at least 2 of your reaches.

Last bump, one more response please, thanks.
