Weighted GPA 3.6

My SAT scores are: 610 math, 690 reading, 730 writing with an 11 on the essay.

SAT II scores: 630 Math I, 660 Literature, 800 U.S. History.

My AP scores are 5 on AP US History and 5 on AP US Government, both from junior year. I got an A in AP US History and an A+ in AP US Government, and I've performed well in English and other history courses, and I've been on the honors french track for freshman, sophomore, and junior year. I've always been on the advanced math and science track as well but sometimes i haven't performed as well as i'd like.

This year I'm taking AP English Literature, AP Biology, AP European History, AP Art History, Calculus 1, and French 5.

I was the student representative to the school board for 3 years, a member of student council, in chorus, an active member of the Global Responsibility Organization, and a contributor to the newspaper for 2 years (freshman and sophomore). I had my AP US History and AP US Government teachers do my recommendations.

Side note that only applies to GW: I used "Georgetown" in my essay once instead of George Washington...yeah long story. I know that can be an issue.

What would you say my chances are for these three schools?

GW gives a LOT of importance to how much the student wants to attend the school so the essay mix up could be a determining factor. Otherwise, your AP’s and course schedule sound good but your gpa and testing scores are both quite on the low side for GW and Holy Cross. American seems like a good match though.

Thanks for responding :)

Actually, according to College Navigator, Holy Cross has a 25/75 of 580/670 for CR and 600/680 for math for its enrolled students. So that puts you in the top 25% for CR, but in the bottom half for math. GW is 600/690 for both CR and M. So I think you’re in the ballpark for both of them.

Those stats are quite a bit lower than what college board reports. I’ve never heard of college navigator…
The GPA is more of a concern than the SAT’s for these schools though.

The same 580/670 CR and 600/680 M numbers are listed in HC’s most recent common data set.

You are correct, though, that HC puts more of an emphasis on GPA/class rank, and it does have a SAT-optional policy, so the OP may have more trouble due to her/his GPA.
