Chances for GWU ED2

I have applied early decision 2 for The George Washington University Class of 2017, I was hoping that someone could chance me. I also hope to gain admissions into the school of Media and Public Affairs under the Political Communication major.
I wrote about Elizabeth Warren for my Political Communications essay.
GW is my first choice and I made that apparent in my essay.
GPA: 3.66
ACT: 27 (low, I know)
ECs: President of Speech and Debate (National Forensics League Tournament Attendee, twice), Math Club for three years, 4-H for all four years, and Art Club Vice President

All of my classes since freshmen year are listed as college level on my transcript.

Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated!

Wow, you are much more qualified than I am…

26 ACT- 3.5 GPA, I have had 3 internships, but I am applying for the Five-Year Masters in Tourism Administration program in the GWSB… I have alot of hooks… Lets use this as our EDII thread…

Nice to meet you Kim

You have a decent shot… Do you by anychance know the acceptance rate ED2?

I don’t know the acceptance rate of ED2 but I think I heard somewhere that the acceptance rate of ED1 is normally about 40-45% which is a good bit higher than the regular decision acceptance rate. I just don’t even know what I’ll do if I don’t get in, it’s all I’ve ever wanted.

My name’s actually Katie, Klm are just my initials but thank you for your input! It’s nice to talk to other early decision 2 students since I haven’t seen many!

Hey Katie, fellow political communication hopeful here! Honestly you are more qualified than I am, so good for you. I believe that the admissions rate for ED 2 is a little higher than ED 1. It was last year so it will most likely be higher this year as well.

Quick question, do you think it’s a good idea to write about Anderson Cooper for my political communication essay?

If I remember the question was if you could be anyone active in politics who would you be and why, so I mean if you can justify how Anderson Cooper is active in politics and why you would want to be him I think it would be fine. I would just make sure that you can justify all your reasons, if you do that then I think you would be fine writing about anyone writing in politics! I wish you the best of luck! I am too excited!

Also, if you have sent your early decision agreement in, how long did it take them to register it on the portal? I sent my first one about three weeks ago, and I emailed them and they hadn’t received it yet so I sent another. I’m just worried that they won’t get it on time! Probably just bad nerves.

I am also applying for Early Decision II, maybe you guys could chance me?

I’m applying to the Dean’s Scholars in Shakespeare Program as well, and I interviewed there at the end of November.

Thanks so much! Does anyone know if applying to a special program increases your chances at all?

I think you have a really good chance! I’m super jealous of your gpa. I’m not sure about the whole does applying to special programs help your chances. I guess it would depend which program it was an how many applicants they get. From what I understand you can get acceptance into the university and not into the program.

@baileyblume- If you aren’t a perfect candidate for EDII, I don’t know who is. I’m sure you’ll get in- pray for me too!!

Thanks so much guys. Best of luck to both of you!!

Does anyone know when our decisions will be released? Plus I haven’t gotten the GWID thing yet, even though i applied on the 5th…

@13all94 wow thats weird… i got my gwid as soon as i sent my common app (around 12 hrs later)… this was before i submitted my supplements, recs, payments, etc.

I haven’t gotten my gw id either, and i applied the 10th. my guidance counselor just sent in her part of the early decision agreement, so everything is now in. would they wait for the ED agreement before sending me the GW id email?

I will ask my college counselor as well because I want to access my decision online

Sent from my iPhone

You should get your GWid after you send in your application. That’s when I got mine, even without the other stuff submitted.

maybe yall have it and dont know it? becoz it comes from a different email than most gw emails. (it was in my spam folder but i regularly check that 2 - shocking right)

I checked my gmail spam folder, had 2 emails from GW. But neither had my gw id. Just gonna have to wait it out I guess
