Hello! I'm planning on applying ED 1 for GWU this year. I am now a senior and have a 3.3 UW and 3.5 W. I am taking 4/6 aps this year to raise my gpa to a 3.5 UW and 3.7 W. altogether i will have taken 7 aps and 2 honors by graduation. sat combined= 1910 (will take again) act=28 (without studying) ihave great ec's and leadership as well as rec letters. i am applying to columbian college of arts and sciences. any advice? i am also looking into american U as another alternative in DC

If you can improve all of that, you have a great chance

Why do you want to go to GWU?

I’m thinking about GW for ED too. Raise your GPA bit, and then wait until ED and retake your SATs to stay safe although they’re good.

OP- here’s my advice. If you are applying ED1, you won’t have time to pull up your grades, but they’ll see that your schedule is rigorous. Plan to have an on-campus interview, and be ready to show that you have really looked into the school. Mention specific programs, professors, experiences that you hope to have, internships that you’d take advantage of, etc. Make contact by phone or email with your local admissions officer.

BTW- GW is very generous about credit for APs, so work hard- it will really free up your schedule.
