And people, bear in mind that i am applying early action, so i have less than a year.If i dont start getting ready now, then i might as well be rejected.

I thought you said you were a sophomore. Therefore,

a)Since you apply when you're a senior, you have two years, not one.
b)Harvard's not offering Early Action after this fall, so you won't be able to apply early

I'm not trying to show off, by the way, I'm just trying to help.

Well, it's gonna be early decision then, so i am still gonna apply early. About the sophomore thing. I am not quite sure i used correctly (i am not native). I am IB1, so that would be 11th grade. What is that called?

Oh, it's called junior. Now I see it was just a misunderstanding.

Also, I'm afraid you're a bit confused- there WON'T be Early Action OR Early Decision to Harvard next year. You won't be able to apply early to Harvard at all.

Actually there will be early decision. My counselor talked to Harvard's dean of admissions when he came a week ago. they just changed it. I am positive.

Really? I hadn't heard anything about that, but if so, that's surprising. Harvard has never had Early Decision before, and it seems strange that the year they intended to end their early admission program entirely they would instead make it binding.

I'll wait until the official word on that comes out (and it does seem strange he'd tell admissions counselors that in private before their public announcement).

Haha. Wow. Sorry, but I can't say I believe this. I really don't see it happening.

Okay, i feel humiliated! U guys were right. I checked with my councelor, and she said that it was Yale that changed from EA to ED. Really sorry...

Nah, no need to feel embarrassed, everyone makes mistakes.

So, as you see, there's no need to start preparing your application right now (obviously, you should be working hard in school and in everything else, and spending some time looking at colleges, but not preparing for an individual application). In fact, even if you were applying early to Harvard, you shouldn't be worrying about that right now. It doesn't help!

Starting applications early is great- start it early next summer. But starting it a year early is just silly. And more importantly, how exactly is a chances thread going to help you write your application?

Well, mu coucelors are really demanding. Plus i can get really anxious. Well, the sooner the better. I know that i have time, but IB is really demanding. So next year, when i'll be swamped and striving for great predicted (grades), i wont have the time needed.
