What are ur XC/Track times? You might be recruitable. Either way, good chances.

They're really bad now, ever since I started to compete academically, sleep and therefore times have dropped (16's to 17/18's 5ks)

Do you guys think my app makes me look like someone who does nothing but compete? it doesnt seem very constructive

Your app is fine. Competetion is good.

If your GPA is 4.0 U/W, why do you think your rank is 2-3/500 instead of 1/500? I'm presuming you're not at a school that's on a 4.3 scale, because if you are, then there's no way that you are 2-3/500.

Anyway, I'm going to use 1/500 for your rank.

Based upon this your AI is 236.5, which is the highest score I've seen on this site in over a month. Since your ECs are all good, your APs are all 5s, as long as your GPA stays at 4.0 this semester you'll have a good chance at both schools.

Apply ED to the one you are most interested in, since this will show your definite interest in them, help their yield, and keep you from possibly getting a lower GPA due to poor grades next semester, which could then threaten your chances at these schools.

Write back and let us know where you applied and what the results were.
We're always interested in these things.

My school is very competitive; rankings are almost impossible since there would be many factors that go into it. What is an AI? My SAT1 score is quite average, and my AP's are very light. How much do you think those would affect my chances? Thanks.

Holy ****. That is amazing. If you don't get in to these schools I don't know who in hell well.

I think any school is a safe for you.

I'm beginning to feel very un-confident about my own chances.

Ehh its all a big pile of average stuff though

bump......

Totally qualified, so who knows? Keep in mind 25% of the class has SATs over 1590 (old) and 50% are recruited athletes, URMs, legacies, development candidates, children of the famous and prodigies. That would leave you to be smack in the middle of their highest stat kids and those who can afford lower stats--not a lot of places there. All that to say love your matches and safeties.

What would you say are some good matches/safeties?

bump......

17/18 for a 5k run... wow that kinda sucks

you are extremely smart however so that makes up for it

I used to run 16's, back when i had time and energy to train

Harvard and Princeton are reasonable reaches and everyone should know it. Look at the acceptance rates--for Harvard, it gets to the point where they have to pick 1 in 10. Of those 10, at least 2 are bound to be as good as the OP. However, as far as chances go, the OP has done the best doable and has (relatively speaking!) a 'solid' shot.

Any suggestions for safety schools? Im really not sure where to apply if I get deferred to Princeton.

Look for schools that:

A) You like
B) Have acceptance rates over 25%
C) You have 75 percentile marks below your marks (SAT, GPA, etc.) compared to

That's the good making of a safety, IMO.
