Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): 1) co-founded an international and domestic organization HOPE, which sends supplies (clothing, bedding, toiletries, etc) to orphans in haiti and (eventually) costa rica. It started in my freshman year with a few drives to collect the stuff and currently has spread to elite private schools across the nation. I brought it into the camp where i work (the color war). Kids brought in supplies for points for their team lol (yay creativity!) and i did the same thing with my school's color war. One of the other founders went to costa rica and is trying to open connections to an orphanage there. But yeah we've collected tons of boxes, enough to fill an entire storage unit, and it's being sent to Haiti soon by this family we starting talking with. We have a legit website and everything (which im not putting on here, sorry!! haha im paranoid). My dad passed away when I was 5 and my mom almost did a little later so this is very close to my heart (will emphasize this) 2) Art. I'm in AP studio art and have had my paintings/drawings exhibited in 2 places and have won a national award, hoping for some more later. I'm the vice president of the national art honor society and gave a presentation on working with acrylic paint. I've always been really into art. 3) Fit and Fun, working with kids with special needs teaching them to get active and have good social skills. Every sunday for 4 months at a time at a local community center. I did this cause i have an autistic cousin and I knew how hard it is to have those problems and I kinda wanted to do it for him i guess . I couldn't do it this year though cause SAT tutoring is at the same time, but i'm doing it again next year. 4) Yearbook editor in chief, made the entire yearbook for 2 years cause all of the other members dropped out -_____- lol 5) Other smaller things like NHS, Key club editor, operation smile, other clubs that I don't really feel like expanding on at the moment haha but i can say a lot about each and how they all affected me one way or another

Job/Work Experience: Worked at a summer camp where I used to go every summer since 9th grade. I've done a variety of things there from helping in the office (answering phone calls, filing, helping parents, etc) to working with nursery-school aged kids

Volunteer/Community service: See extracurricular activities

Summer Activities: Summer camp job^, SAT Course, Shabbaton committee- working with other students at my school to plan the school's annual vacation, working on HOPE

Essays: Writing about my mom with MS and my father who passed away and how it affected me and gave me a newfound drive and appreciation for life. Just finished it -- honestly going to be one of my strongest points!! :D

Teacher Recommendation: 2 AP teachers, us history and enviro- hope both will be really good
Counselor Rec: Our school is moronic and they've decided to get a new counselor next year so I'll have to be nice to her I guess LOL
Interview: idk about this yet

thank you! i will chance back :)

It seems like you have a lot of EC’s which is good .
It’s hard to say with schools like Harvard though, anything can happen.

Raise your test scores if you can, which it sounds like you are planning on. Other than that your academics all meet the “prereqs” for a ivy league candidate. In addition to having the necessary requirements w/ your GPA and class difficulty, you have some great EC’s. I think if you get either of your SAT tests up then you will have as good of a chance as anyone.

Chance me back here: talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1530400-what-my-chances-will-chance-back.html

Your scores and everything look really high and you Ecs look great which is good. Your school looks really small, is it a good school. Cus that is a big factor. Chance back please. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/multiple-degree-programs/1528664-questions-about-plme-hpme-chances.html</a></p>

If you can manage to raise your SAT score by a bit, you will have a high chance. While Harvard is a reach for anyone, your GPA, SAT II scores, AP scores, and ECs are all more than solid, making you a fairly qualified applicant. I have faith that you can craft a powerful and poignant essay. A close friend of mine also wrote his essay about his deceased father and was accepted to Harvard, Stanford, etc.

As it is, I think you stand a decent chance. Bring that SAT up and you’ll be completely set.

Chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1530083-what-my-chances-top-schools.html</a></p>

My friend you are decent applicant, but Harvard is Harvard, I mean it’s unpredictable. Your academic stats are good. I hope You will get into Harvard! And remember luck is most important.

Your extra curriculars and academics are all up to standard, but given the amount of stellar applicants to Harvard, it is hard to tell what your chances are. However, it looks to me like you are in the running. Good luck!

If you can crack 2250, then that would be great. Overall, I think you are a very solid ans competitive applicant! Everything looks excellent, and it would be Harvard’s loss if they rejected you. Good luck!

I don’t see the reason why you are not sending the ACT score. It is at least on par if not slightly better than your SAT1 score considering the CR+M to be only 1430. In addition, your SAT2 scores are a little bit weak for Harvard.

Chances:

Harvard SCEA - Reach

Top 3 Weakness in your application:

**- Slightly Low SAT score

  • Lack of state/national awards
  • Really good ECs - but are they focused toward a cause?
    **

I think you are amazing! You will get in.
