Chance me please!! :-)

Got stuff…I personally hope you get in and based on your stats believe your app is competitive at all schools you mentioned. That is, if you increase your ACT to around a 34. How tough was your course load (AP,IB)? You have a lot going for you and wish you good luck!

Did you take courses such as calcII, ap chem or bio, microecon?

Sent from my DROIDX using CC App

Thank you sooo much!!
My courses were the following:
9th: AP World History and AP Biology
10th: Ap European History, AP Macroeconomics, AP U.S. Govt. and Policies, AP Spanish Lang. AP English Lang, IB Pre-Calculus, AP Human Geography
11th: IB Spanish 5, IB Psychology SL, AP English Lit, AP Calculus, IB Chemistry 2, AP U.S. History.

Question: If you are not planning on using your AP credits, do the scores still factor in to admissions? I have a 5 in AP World, a 4 in AP Bio, the rest are 3s (except idk my 11th grade scores yet), but I’m pretty sure I’m going to get 7s on both IB Psychology and IB Spanish!

Yeah your scores matter as much as the grades I believe, because an A is equivalent to a 5 on an AP test, so if you get an A and only a 2 on the test than the class was easy they assume and you did not earn the A at a college level. But 5, 4s and 3s should be good enough. Also class rank matters as much as your GPA itself I forgot to mention, what is your rank

Oh and defiantly apply early, its the best thing you can do. You soil be competing with much less students.

If you can pull your ACT up to ~33, I’d give you good chances at Brown, decent chances at Penn, and reasonable (read: still very low, but respectable) chances at Harvard. You have a strong application and the advantage of being a URM.

I am rank 4 in a class of 270.

And thank you so much for the input!! :-)

You’re in wherever you apply. Your stats are great (if you raise your ACT), ECs are good, and the URM status will help a great deal.

Thank you so much for your input, dblazer! I will definitely be early applying!

^^Yeah I agree, and being in the top 5% shows that your gpa is what its made out to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got into many of the top 10 schools. You worked hard obviously and I would say aim high. But make sure you don’t go to a school only for prestige. This will be a mistake, because if you don’t enjoy the school than you won’t do well, and no amount of prestige will fix that. Look into the top schools for what you are into (science, english, pre-law etc.) Harvard is a great school, and I would say even if you get in which I am sure you will with a higher ACT, look into schools that fit you the best if you already did not. There are multiple schools on par with Harvard (Columbia, Yale, Stanford, the community college up the street jk lol).

Thank you dwalker for the sound advice! I’m going premed with a major in neuroscience wherever I go, and I will most definitely look into other schools as well! Thanks once again!

URM with solid stats? In everywhere.

To be honest u will get into most places u apply
Ivys are sort of random in selectivity but if u make sure ur act, essays are solid
U will probably get in.

and please chance me

What is your State?

What is your financial status?

It looks like you have a good chance as an URM at some Ivies if not all with higher scores and subjects scores over 700.

Thank you addymithas!
Thank you UrbanNight!
Thank you texaspg! I’m from Florida and fiancially, I probably qualify for a decent amount of financial aid.

I was wondering if you meet questbridge requirements so you can apply for matches through QB. Only drawback is Harvard is not part of QB match.

Almost everyone has mislead you, you will get in everywher, good stats –>URM

Thanks for the input texaspg! I have thought about it, but I most likely won’t be going through QB.
Thanks so much for the input BernieMadoff!

In at UPenn. Probably in at Brown. 50/50 at Harvard. This is assuming you write good essays. If your essays are amazing your chances will improve.
