If you haven’t already, you should pick a general interest (what you want to do in college) and clearly show how your activities in high school helped nurture that interest. At this point you should focus on your essay and upcoming interview.

you re just better than average
personnally i find that really basic application if you want get in find a thing espescially yu re unique and the best ^^ i say that but i say nothing

Well, since many of you say to focus one major thing I am good at, then it is definitely TKD. I mentioned that I am the PA State champion for 2011 in two of the events and I had to go to at least 10 different tournaments and do very well in order to gain that title, but I did not want to list every single competition. Do you guys think it advisable to put all of my tournaments into the application? Wont that sound to redundant?

You’re no sure bet, but your chances aren’t worse than average. (I don’t get more specific than that.) ^This one is trolling. My rule of thumb was that higher-level (for me, quizbowl) competitions remove the need for listing many/any lower-level ones. I might have listed one or two local tournaments, but I don’t think so. Instead, I just listed my results in the state tournament, since I couldn’t’ve gotten there without the lower-level wins.

So I got deferred for SCEA to Harvard, but when I got the letter asking me to update my information, I sent in the fact that I currently have Top Ten World Championship standing for two of my tae kwon do events and also that I am 1st in my district for speech league (Poetry). Does this brighten my chances a little?

Really? I don’t see how that would hurt her chances. I’m obviously not an adcom but can say with some certainty that that will help your chances. But, I can’t say the extend to which it will.

^^ While the OP’s update may sound good to me and you, an Admin is receiving hundreds of updates from students and is really the only person who can tell how the OP’s update stacks up against the competition.

While the TKD accomplishments show a great commitment to the activity, unfortunately Harvard does not recruit for that sport. (It may have a club team?)
