Chances for Harvard?

<p>I'm an international student and have applied Early Action to Harvard. I'll just briefly summarise my application.</p>

<p>SAT: 2270 (730 CR, 800 W, 740 M only 1 attempt)
SAT II: 800 Math 2, 730 Biology, 750 Literature (all taken on the same day, like SAT I, just the 1 attempt because I was trying to hurry to apply EA)
GPA: equivalent to 4.0
Taken hardest courses available</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
Self-taught guitar player
Volunteer for two charities
Varsity level sports
Multiple golds & silvers in the UKMT Mathematics Challenge
Completed work experience related to my intended major (?)</p>

<p>"Hooks":
1st generation immigrants (have lived in 3 different countries), raised by single parent, Low socio-economic background (?)</p>

<p>Do I have a chance? I'm concerned that my SAT I scores are a little low. Also, I think I lack some of the accolades that other Harvard applicants have (albeit my ECs are very time consuming).</p>

<p>You’re a good candidate. Harvard is a reach for everyone, however you’re definitely in the running despite your sat score which is average for a harvard student. I think you need to make sure your essays reflect what you faced when moving between 3 countries. </p>

<p>What country are you from? If it’s in Asia and Europe, chances are low. If you’re from Africa, much better.</p>

<p>You’re a solid applicant, competitive on any level, you just don’t have all that much to separate yourself from the other candidates. Your scores are good, but not particularily exceptional for an H applicant (much better than mine though:() and your ECs aren’t exceptional (unless those math awards are much better than they appear). Other than that though, your second order hooks will probably give you an excellent shot. If your essays played them off well, I’d give you a solid chance at getting in.</p>
