Hey...I'm a freshman at a high school in Phoenix Arizona. I am an actice participant in the state champion speech and debate team. With some national success. I predict my GPA will rest somewhere around a 3.85 - 3.91 unweighted. Over 4.0 weighted. I am already taking 2 AP classes as a freshman. I regularly volunteer at the local YMCA and am involved in many service projects in my community. I know it's a little early to be making predictions...but does anyone have any imput on what my chances are for Harvard or any other Ivy Leage Schools? Any input would be greatly appriciated.

No can predict whether you will have a fair shot at the Ivy League until you take some standardized tests and accumulate more honors. Taking 2 AP courses in freshman year is a good start, but it's not rare at all among high-quality students (sorry to blow your ego, if you have one). It's best not to worry about admissions right now -- just concentrate on finding your passion and doing your best in school (and not burning out).

absolutely no way to tell, sorry man. Come back in 3 years.

actually, don't come back. you're really annoying.

jeez that's pretty rude

you have given us nothing to work with. Your debate team might be good, but that tells us nothing about how good you are. Maybe if you start winning some TOC bid rounds, and win the TOC, you'll get into harvard just like that cxer did.

guys whats with the turn down? It's good to be concerned with college at an earlier state. awesomedude, its pretty good that you're taking 2 AP classes already, but your standerized testing, gpa, rank etc are the most important.

plus, make sure you get involved not only in your community but also in school. Good luck in the future and disregard these rude people whom were probably recently rejected :D

Wow APs as a freshman? Our school doesn't start offering ANY APs until sophomore year. You're off to a good start, but I agree with everyone else. Come back later with your full resume. Trust me. I've gotten similar responses from people when I posted chances and I'm a sophomore. Calm down and just wait your turn. :)

And from the sound of it, you MIGHT want to have some safeties because Ivies aren't safeties for anyone. I think you'll need to spend some more time on CC searching for other colleges.

Cherish your youthfull and carefree days! Cherish them! By the time your finished with your apps and dealing with all the malarkey senior year you'll wish you never had to deal with this stuff again. Oh, and for the love of god. Run as fast as you can away from CC. This forum is a drug.

have fun while you can!thats the best advice.

lobgent, his user name is awesomedude64 and you wonder if he has an ego? I'd reject him just for having such an egotistical name.

Thanks for the advice...in response to "afriend"'s comment...this is just a screen name that I use for every website I join so that I don't have to remember too many different names. Sorry that you have a problem with it. To everbody else: thanks for the help, I really appriciate it.

w00t. You freshman suck! So get yourselves dumped in TRASHCANS!!! yea... you're too young man. I didn't even think about college till Sophmore year.

yeah just don't burn out. that would be horrible.
