I feel like I can write a pretty good essay about visiting Peru and how seeing the poverty gave me a much different perspective than most of my classmates had coming from a white middle class area.

The Harvard acceptance rate is 5%. Long shot for everyone. Your credentials are within their range on their common data set. Any chance of being recruited to play soccer? That could give you an additional hook.

Academically you are in line with Harvard admissions. Being from a decent sized public school, where have past vale gone?

Being a URM & National Hispanic Scholar definitely gives you an edge too.

I don’t think I could play soccer for them. I know some of the past valedictorians have gone to Cornell, Ohio State University and Case Western Reserve

You have a shot but its really hard to say…URM gives you a leg up but its not a ticket either. For example, my DD classmate was AA male 35 ACT/4.0UW/4.5W/Solid EC’s waitlisted then rejected at Harvard.

I agree with CU123. You have a good shot. Schools with teen acceptance rates like Cornell and Gtown are schools you can likely gain acceptance to.
