My recs are strong. One is by the IB coordinator. Essay is strong too, I wrote it on a fasting experience. For schools that require writing/research supplements, I am submitting my IB extended essay which is on the neurochemistry behind psychedelic experiences such as LSD, psilocybin, etc(Is that too quirky of a topic? I know Johns Hopkins did a study on this.).

Ooh Taiwan. Cool place.

I’d say your chances just based on your SAT score are slim at Chicago, Swarthmore, and Hopkins. I don’t know ab out the rest.

Reed? Have you had the opportunity to visit Reed College?
If not, I would suggest it. The students there are very eclectic. Reed is not a school for everyone.

I am visiting Reed and interviewing there this weekend. I have heard all about the quirky and eccentric atmosphere and that is why it is my number one choice. I am very confident that I will fit in with the studious/quirky/philosophical/intellectual environment.

That’s good that you are going to get the chance to visit. I visited on Fall Visit Day and I absolutely loved Reed. If you can, get your hands on the Student Handbook (I think that’s what it’s called…it’s green…). It is written entirely by students so you’ll gain further insight as to what students think of Reed. Plus the Immorality Quotient near the back is rather amusing :)

I thought I’d heard them all, but hidden ivies???

Definitely mention how many hours you are working on your applications. That should help.
