My daughter is in the honors program at UW and it is a fantastic program! I think that you have outstanding grades and credentials and have a great chance of getting in. I would suggest applying your app to UW and the Honors program ASAP as they let you know if you were accepted as the apps come in. Do not wait until the last day the honors app is due. Good luck!

It's certainly worth a shot! Just remember that it is incredibly selective, and likely has more applicants that meet their high standards than they have room for (only 35 freshmen, I think). Which is to say, don't be discouraged if you don't get in -- you'll have an outstanding academic career wherever you end up. Go for it, and get that paperwork going!

Hey estrella72, are you from Inglemoor High School? I went there, but dropped out in 10th grade to join the UW Honors program.

Also, the UW Honors program actually has some-hundred slots for its freshman class. 35 slots is for the UW Academy program, an 10th grader early entrance program that I went through.

It seems like I might know someone in this thread. I won't give my name out, but I'm taking Math 134, Physics 121B, and two Academy courses. I think I'll major in Astronomy but physics is really discouraging me right now (I'm cramming for a midterm but procrastinating for it too here). I'm pretty well known for being very dorky.

Right you are, amnada and simfish. The 35 number was stuck in my head because of the UW academy thing -- my daughter got a letter inviting her to apply, but she doesn't feel it's for her.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
Yes, I do go to Inglemoor. To anyone who's in UW Honors right now--is it what you expected? Do you like it? Or anything else you'd have to say on it. I visited in spring, but I didn't feel I really learned that much.
Alright thanks!

I have to agree with whoever posted about applying early to the program. I posted this on another thread, but I didn't find out that I got in until pretty late in the game. By then, I was considering acceptances from other colleges. I also submitted my application on or around the last day so that's definitely something to keep in mind as well.
