Chances for Hotel School

What are my chances to get into the Hotel School?

White/Male/MD resident
SAT 1380/2030
GPA 3.46 (Go to top 10 private school in the country = extremely rigorous)
Excellent work experience (worked at international business firm for 3 summers)
4-year Varsity swimmer (Captian for senior year)
4 years in Orchestra
10 years of Piano lessons

well...if you relate your international business firm experience to....hospitality administration...then i think you have as good a chance as anyone. PASSION PASSION PASSION is what they look for.

i think, to be quite honest, you have average chances for the hotel school. you are quantitatively qualified but then again, they don't care as much about the numbers as some would like to believe.

so. as long as you express/expressed your hotel industry passion, you have a fine shot.

but then again, im waiting to hear if i get in to the hotel school ED so don't take me too seriously...im just comparing to those who were accepted last year :)

I also am a kid who is thinking about applying to Cornell hotel....

But you know what.. first, i don't really know you in the first place,,, so i can't tell how much you care about hotel business, second, your rec doesnt show any experience related to hotel or hospitality industry.

I have been asking people around if i have a chance too, but i sometimes think if i am applying to Cornell, cuz its an ivy and a prestigious school or do i really care for cornell and its hospitality curriculum..

Think about that...

I didn't wanna sound so ...idk... like trying to prove a point but,, i 've learned that i have to rethink about my "passion" for Cornell.

And i hope my comments helped you..

BTW there are hundreds of kids with a better gpa and SAT score...

No it definitely doesn't have anything to do with the whole Ivy thing. I never thought in a million years I would apply to an Ivy League school... but now I'm applying to Cornell.

Does anyone know the admit rates for Hotel School ED v. regular?
