Chances for Human Ecology

<p>Hello everyone! I was just wondering about my chances for RD under the College of Human Ecology. I am applying for the human biology, health, and society major.</p>

<p>(I'm using the format from previous college results forums)
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): 720 CR, 800 M, 800 W
ACT:
SAT II: 750 Bio, 800 Math, 790 Chemistry, 710 US History
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.81~3.82
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 10/350 students
AP (place score in parenthesis): Chemisty 5, US history 4
IB (place score in parenthesis):
Senior Year Course Load: AP Biology, Literature, Spanish, Calculus AB, Engineering Honors</p>

<p>Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.):
2013 Siemens Semifinalist
2013 Chemistry Olympiad Semifinalist
2013 President's Volunteer Service Award Gold Level (not sure if this is that great or not)</p>

<p>Job/Work Experience:
Biomedical Cancer Research Intern -Work at local medical center since sophomore summer
-Spent 2 whole summers as well as 2 times per week during school year, conducting cancer research and am co-author of a research paper, which will be published by end of 2014) Submitted work to Siemens</p>

<p>Volunteer/Community service:
Town Green Team -Organized and executed annual town cleanups to promote environmental awareness, gave presentations on environmental issues in front of elementary school board of education and at annual middle school spring fairs, organized environmental film and lecture series at town nature center</p>

<p>Town Environmental Commissioner -overseeing town’s movement toward being green
-Board consistently checks on district’s water resource management, pollution control, solid waste management, etc.</p>

<p>Volunteering group dedicated to helping autistic students improve socialization and interaction skills
-Interacted with, helped, and, educated every week through arts and crafts, reading sessions, and music sessions
-Hold annual fundraiser sales with wristbands and t-shirts, raised over $8000 from past fundraiser
-Hold annual week long event during summer, educating developmentally disabled students through stories, puppet shows, songs, arts and crafts, and skits</p>

<p>Essays (rating 1-10, details): I worked extremely hard on it. Linked the major to my interests in medical research and the environment. Overall, I would say an 8.</p>

<p>Well you already applied so what’s the point now haha? I think you have good scores though. Probably will get in (don’t quote me on it though).</p>

<p>Good test scores, fairly good GPA, and a lot of extracurriculars.
Only thing working against you is the fact that you’re Asian.</p>

<p>I’d say you at least have a chance of getting in.</p>

<p>If the average applicant has a 20% chance you have a least twice that, maybe even 50% chance. Hope the coin flips your way!</p>
