I have always dreamed of attending an ivy league and I was just wondering what you think my chances are. Thank you in advance!
- I am about to enter junior year and will be doing IB ( my HLs are English, psychology, and photography and my SLs are math, chemistry, and Spanish) I'm also taking APUSH and a law
class at the local university.
-I've already taken AP human geo and world history(no scores yet)
- No SAT score yet but I got an 1820 on the online practice test
- GPA is 4.0 unweighted and 4.6 weighted
- My ECs are math team(have placed in team multiple times), mu alpha theta, model un, academic team, science honor society, law club, mock trial, I'm in the law academy and have danced for years ( I'm joining nhs and rho kappa this year)
- officer positions include press secretary of model un and event coordinator of academic team

SAT is currently way too low (even though it is a practice test), aim for 2200+. Only issue I see is that your ECs seem very generic (a lot of top applicants have similar ECs) and that you have no community service. Focus on keeping up your grades and improving your test sores.

Thank you! I’m going to start studying for the SAT continuously soon and have about 100 community service hours planned. Not much I can do about ECs, I’m in most of the clubs offered and too busy with dance to learn to play an instrument:/

Keep up with your grade and do well on your SAT then you’ll be a pretty solid candidate. Good luck!

Honestly, community service for the sake of getting hours whos in your application. Unless you really care about what you’re doing, don’t do it. It shows through, and may hurt your app more than help it.

Get your SAT score up as much as possible. Your Academic Index (AI) is composed of your SAT scores and your GPA/rank. Your second half is fine, just fix your sats and you’ll have a much better chance.
