I know its all a crapshoot, but I would really appreciate advice as to whether I have a shot at any of these schools. Chance me and I'll chance you back!

I would say on the low-side for HYPS, but you still definitely have a shot.

I don’t know if those two AP scores will hurt you…there are so many different views out there concerning AP scores as an admissions factor, but personally I see it as a factor.

The 2 AP scores will hurt you because the colleges see everything courtesy of College Board.
And by the way, a 2280 is amazing, work on your ECs instead of worrying about improving it.

Thanks for your feedback guys!

dstfan, I should be able to withhold my 2 bad AP scores, but I know it’ll still look bad because colleges will assume I got a 2 or lower. Hopefully SATIIs and GPA(it should be a little higher by mid-senior year) will help make up for my APs, though.

Keep the chances coming, folks! Brutal honesty please!

bump 10char

ermm…Ivies are a crapshoot…i’ll bet you get into one

Thanks for the chances everyone!

Amherst low reach
Swarthmore low reach
Kenyon (I don’t have enough knowledge of this school to comment)

I am no expert so take what I have to say with a grain of salt. You’re a great candidate for a lot of theseschools, and I would say that there’s a decent chance you’ll get accepted to at least one of your top-tier schools, as someone said before.

Chance back please?

Princeton - Reach
Harvard - Reach
Brown - Low Reach
Stanford - Reach
Cornell - Low Reach
UC Berkeley - In State Safety; OOS Match
UCLA - In State Safety; OOS Match
U Chicago - Match
WUSTL - Match
Northwestern - Match
Williams - Low Reach
Swarthmore - Low Reach
Kenyon - Safety!

As others have said, you definitely have a few reaches, but go for them! You are a generally strong applicant, although your GPA is slightly weak for the very top colleges. Write killer essay and make sure you get strong recs and you should be fine… I would through in a few more safeties just to be sure because you never know with the crap shoot decisions now a days. (By the way I have a bias for speech and debaters!) Good Luck!

Where are you safeties? You are a reasonable candidate, but many with your stats will be rejected from all of these schools except maybe Kenyon. You don’t tell us rank but hopefully you’re top 2 in your class for a serious shot at HPS.

assuming you’re out of state…

Princeton: Reach
Harvard: High Reach
Brown: Low Reach
Stanford: High Reach
Cornell: Low Reach/High Match
UC Berkeley - Low Reach/High Match
UCLA - Low Reach/High Match
U Chicago - High Match
WUSTL - Match

Williams - Low Reach
Swarthmore - Low Reach
Kenyon - Safety!!

I really appreciate the chances and advice everyone!

Btw, the shools I’ve listed aren’t a complete list of schools I’m going to apply to (I definitely will have some safeties in there!), they’re just schools I want to be chanced for.
