Chances for IB students outside the US?

Does taking a harder combination increase the chance of getting accepted to top universities. I want to major in physics and i'm hoping to apply to the best universities in the US for physics. My subjects are: Math, Physics and Chemistry high level. Economics, arabic and english standard level. We also take german as an extra subject. Will this greatly increase my chance of getting admitted ( assuming i get good grades)? Also if i get a B+ or A- in Chemistry would it greatly affect my chances of getting admitted, since i could switch it with a relatively easier subject which would get me higher grades.?

I think the IB diploma itself is a merit when applying to the universities/colleges. Otherwise, I highly doubt that certain subject combinations would be rendered as more difficult by admissions officers (because ultimately, this is completely subjective).
