Chances for illustration major

Hi,
I plan on double majoring in Illustration and undecided major. I only have couple colleges that I've found and still need to visit.

School: Public
Gpa: 3.7 UW, 4.2 W
Sat I: 640 V, 500 W, 590 M (total: 1740) (superscored: 1810) Taken 3 times
Grade: 11
Rank: 98/ 900...ish
Courses: Taking AP Euro and Ap Lit in 12th. Core Courses (s. studies, english, German etc.) are mostly honors but I take parallel math courses. I will also be taking parallel Physics.

EC:
Swim Team 5+ yrs.
Clarinet for 7+ yrs.
Music/art lessons
President of my county's 4-H Poultry Club
Job - Lifeguarding/ swim lessons
Volunteer work - helped Church's classes (hall monitor, classroom aide, distributing materials, making crafts)
National Honors Society

Colleges:
Temple/Tyler School of Art
Rochester Institute of Technology
Syracuse University
Brown/ RISD Dual Degree program

Obviously, I need a strong portfolio but I didn't think about the need for ECs during 9th, 10th and even 11th grade. Also, my Gpa is going to decrease this year because of Bs and B-s in Pre-calculus and Chemistry I (honors)

bump......

I can tell you what I know. I have been getting ready to apply to risd and some other art schools. From the three or four consultants i've met, I have learnt that it's the portfolio that makes the difference. I know it's a frustrating answer when you want to know your chances but its the truth. The marks are worth maintaining, and having a weighted gpa of 4 surely wont hurt. Given these marks, you'll get in with a good portfolio, but wont with a bad one.

Your test scores and academic rigor put you somewhat out of the running for Brown (barring national awards for your artwork). Take a look at the profiles of some of Brown's accepted students this year. I'm saying this because I've read that you have to get into both Brown and RISD independently to be accepted into the dual enrollment program. You may very well be accepted to RISD (not having seen your portfolio, I have no idea what your chances are--and in fact, even if I saw your portfolio, I doubt I have the eye of the admissions committee who would examine it) but, according to statistics of previous Brown admittees, it is unikely (but not impossible) that you would be accepted to Brown.

I hope this is helpful, and I don't mean to be cynical, just realistic.
