Chances for In-State Admission

Hi! I’m a student graduating next year and I’m worried about my chances to NCState which is my dream school.
I want to go into the Biomedical Engineering program, but I’m afraid my grades are too low, any suggestions would be nice. Here is where my grades stand currently:
8th grade:
Math 1- 91
Spanish 1- 96

9th grade:
Honors Math 2- 92
Honors Biology- 96
PE (Health)- 95
Spanish 2- 94
Theatre Arts- 94
Honors World History- 94

10th grade:
AP United States History- 85- 3 on exam
Honors Chemistry- 89
Honors English 2- 93
Math 3- 83
Honors Spanish 3- 91
Theatre Arts Specialization- 90

11th grade (current):
Honors Civics- 86
AP English Language and Composition (in progress)
AP Environmental Science (in progress)
AP Psychology (in progress)
Honors Pre-calculus (in progress) (Most likely a high B)
Honors Forensic Science (in progress)
Honors Spanish 4 (in progress)

Intended Senior Year:
AP AB Calculus
AP English Literature and Composition
Honors Physics
Honors Spanish 5
Theatre Arts Specialization 3
Internship

My current SAT score is a 1290, but I just took it again and felt much better, and I haven’t received my ACT score yet, but I feel good about that one too.

Current GPA-
Weighted 4.15
Unweighted 3.77

Class Rank:
24 out of 122

Outside of school, my extracurriculars are extensive, and I already have an internship with a biomedical engineer in my area.

Any advice as to my chances of admission and how to bolster them, or alternative programs I’m not aware of would be fantastic. Thanks!

Don’t worry, what sportsarefun said is completely false. As another NC resident I think you have good odds, just get involved in more ec”s and if you raise the SAT above 1330 you should get in easily.

I’m also concerned specifically about my chances for admission into the engineering program, because I know it is one of the harder schools to get in to.

I am a current senior that was deferred from engineering, waiting to hear back anytime now. I would say look at the thread for decisions within the next week to get a good idea. Keep in mind though that it will be biased because people on this forum usually have better stats and people who are accepted are more likely to post. Other than that no one has an application exactly like yours so just do your best the rest of this year and the coming year. Good luck

My daughter has a 5.0 from a Wake County School 11 of 450+ SAT above 1330 Varsity Soccer 4 years, Golf 2 years, theater, works 2 jobs and was deferred from engineering at State. Got in Clemson.

I logged your stats into Prepscholar. The average GPA for NCSU is 3.67 and the average SAT score is 1300. That puts your stats almost exactly on target with their acceptance rate of 50%. Be sure to apply as early as possible.

Update: my new SAT super score is 1350, 680 on English, 670 on math.

My daughter did not get into engineering at state but a second choice major.
