Chances for Ivies + Barnard, Smith, and Brown deferral

I had to get special permission as well as took an insane online and summer courseload

Good at essays doesn’t mean strong and relevant writing for a college admissions review. You want the perspective of an experieced adult and Publisher offered. The colleges are not looking for “a story.” Rather, the attributes they value and look for. You need an idea what those are.

The chances for an Ivy/Barnard/Brown will be affected by the grade issues. While kids see the competition as for an admit, the tippy tops are looking at the ability to do well during the college four years, that competition. A grade drop can suggest less learning.

If anyone mentions the grade drop and rape, it should be the GC. That gives him/her a chance to also note how you sprung back. But telling these colleges PTSD is a risk. They’re looking for resilience (I know that’s hard.)

I hope you got counseling. Not sure why the “insane” courseload. However you justify it for GPA, it sounds like an unusual reaction to the trauma.

@lookingforward @aquapt @sattut Going to Bowdoin College!

@DieLit

Congratulations!!! That’s awesome!

Great school, congrats!

You earned it…congratulations!!

@aquapt thanks for the advice though. I got into CMC and SCripps and almost chose to go to a claremont

You can only go to one school, and Bowdoin is a great choice! Congrats and hope you have a fantastic experience there!
