Chances for Ivies, Georgetown

<p>Hi, I applied to Georgetown EA, am applying to Harvard, Yale, Columbia RD. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>4.0/4.0 GPA (my school is inweighted) #1 in my class, out of about 300</p>

<p>SAT: 1470 (760V, 710M)
ACT: 33 (34eng, 34math, 35read, 28sci)
SATII Writing: 800
Math IIC: 760
US History: 750</p>

<p>I took 3 AP's last year (US Hist, Chem, Eng Lang) and got 5, 4, and 4 respectively</p>

<p>This Year, I'm taking AP Spanish Lang, Eng Lit, Calc, and US Govt</p>

<p>For ECs:</p>

<p>4 years with marching band/wind symphony (trombone) - was co-captain, section leader, solo 1st chair</p>

<p>Also played varsity baseball, made academic all-state for Michigan.
I work as a golf caddie, have been for 3 years, and I won awards there as well.</p>

<p>Was NHS Treasurer...now for the potential Hooks:</p>

<p>Attended National Student Leadership Conference on US Policy and Politics</p>

<p>Was 1st place winner of Holocaust Remembrance Project National Essay Contest.</p>

<p>What do you all think?</p>

Everything else: No</p>

<p>Why? I don't really know. I just seem to think that GU will happen because you are in the top of your class(which they really like), you have a mid-range SAT for them, and you are decently involved.</p>

<p>All the others are so hard that it is just easier to say upfront no.</p>

<p>Agreed. Although I think you have a decent chance at Columbia. If you are trying to get into the best school possible, it might be wise to add dartmouth, penn, brown, duke, etc. They are all within range. But if you would choose g-town over these than never mind.</p>
