any suggestions, weaknesses? i wanna major in something med/science and music. and yes i know i have no sat's yet. thanks!

You definitely have a shot. If your SATs are good, I would figure that you could shoot for Harvard, have a good chance at the lower Ivies. Choose some sure matches and a safety school, too. Also, pay some serious attention to checking out the financial aid situations at the schools you are interested in, since you are "kind poor". This is important- what if the parents' expected contribution is beyond what your folks can afford. In that case, you would need to find a place that gives merit aid plus need-based aid. Those places exist, but you have to find them and apply in time.

I personally think that most of the Ivies are somewhat of a reach for you, considering your courseload up to this point. It appears like you haven't taken enough AP and Honors classes thus far. I guess we won't be able to give you a very in-depth analysis of your chances at the Ivies until you show us your SAT 1, SAT 2, and AP scores. If you don't get at least a 1500 on the SAT, then shooting for Harvard would be like shooting the moon in Hearts for you. Happy holidays!!!

I completely disagree with manonfire. I just got into Columbia ED and I only took 3 AP classes before senior year and 3 more this year for a total of 6. I'm sure based on your AP scores and your grades you will do very well on the SAT's. Also, your music is a big draw. Music was a big help for me as I played four woodwinds, including two double reeds. Just make sure that you continue your grades and continue your EC's. Dedication to a select number of EC's shows that you are a focused and determined person.

You look very good on paper so far. Have a wonderful holiday season and don't get too caught up with the college stuff until, at the earliest, spring break of this year. Enjoy yourself for now.
