got a good start here. great test scores and seem to be very involved. GPA a little low, and you seem to be involved in a lot of activities - almost too many. Colleges like to see that you are dedicated to a few extracurriculars as opposed to trying everything at your school. however, you have a very strong start here
What is your intended major? For UMich, your GPA and SAT score are a bit low. Your ACT is fine though. It is likely a reach to low reach depending on your intended major.
Based entirely on the OP, I would not be particularly optimistic, I’m afraid:
- You are OOS for the UCs and UMichigan, which go heavily by GPA and scores
- Your 3.75 GPA and 2070 SAT I are lowish. Your ACT is in the range, but not exceptional.
- Your ECs are broadly diversified, but without any clear focus or achievement.
- As an Asian you are in a difficult demographic group
Again, I’m basing this entirely on the very limited information in the OP, which could easily miss the bigger picture. But based on that, I’d look at a more realistic set of options, and certainly throw a few reaches in and give them your best shot.
For the UCs your GPA is low. You are spread thin on activities, so your interests appear all over the place.
Why are you targeting so many OOS publics? The UCs will cost you a minimum of $55k.
**OOS students pay full fees ** since scholarships and financial aid are limited to state residents.
Will your parents pay over $200k for you over 4 years? You won’t qualify for instate residency.
Redo your list to include instate safeties.
I have been doing a lot of these activities since freshman year. I just joined key club and rotary junior year
That’s still not going to make you do and out in any way.
I vies will be a fair reach as SE Asian applicant. Very fierce stats from that respective group, so you will be viewed on the lower end.

What is your UC GPA?
A common misconception is that involvement in a lot of EC’s is somehow a good thing. As suggested above, you have too many EC’s going on to have a meaningful impact in any one of them. Now is a good time to cut back given your AP course load. You should be able to figure out if you are in the top 10% of your school by getting a copy of your school profile on the web. You have a solid ACT and appropriate course rigor but nothing really strikes me as exceptional. Carefully read the test score policy of each college you plan on applying to - you may need to take SAT Subject tests or submit all test scores
I will assume your UC GPA is 4 or above, because of your unweighted GPA and the fact that you hit 8 semesters worth of APs.

UCLA- Reach
UCSD- High Match/Low Reach
UCD- Match/High Match
UCI- Match
UCSB- Match
I do not think being OOS will affect your chances much for the UCs because they have been admitting lots of OOS students recently, due to all the budget cuts.
how would you calculate uc gpa
3.97 is my UC GPA
^ Then, it is too low for middle to upper UCs.
