Chances for ivies.

It isnt mine btw, but my friend in senior year. He was very anxious and I'm quite curious about his chances as well becuz his stats are like my target-dream stats.

Junior

AMC12 100 something
AIME 8
USAMO qualifier (he got a two on USAMO :P)

he also won other numerous awards but they are within school and arent effective at all (like student of the month and those awards given to top 5% of classes)

He took mulktivariable calc in a community college and has 100 hours of community service but he serviced at many different places.

His essays are good and recs should be good.

What are his chances? I know many wont reply as they arent my profile but I want to know if i try as hard as him, what my chances will be as well.

o rite. I forgot the most important bits... He aims to go for stanford, MIT, Berkeley, columbia, the engineering schools. He also put regular in Upenn Wharton for Huntsman program.

i dont think he applied to HYP.

Hes a foreigner like me, but has a US citizen passport and lives in the US.

He also has bunch of other EC's but he doesnt have any position in them and he onli participated for 2,3 years.... so those were the main ones

what are his science club and UN awards, just wondering

he didnt win any awards for science club nor UN. Just a president for the club and was representing the school as a delegate of france but didnt win anything.

Unfortunately, it is very hard to predict his chances because many other people applying to those colleges are just like him. His essays and recs will have to be really good.

bump... .............

i'll bump it again!... hmm;

another bump;

It all depends on which ivies you are applying to.

so is she/ he really shy or cant acess their computer in the library ?

well as a frequent(?) CC person, I'm posting for him. He refused instantly as he thinks ID making processes are tedious and asked me to do instead

well, if you refuse to register in order to get information on a topic so important as this that shows a lack of interest i think (tedious is not a word appl. offices would want to hear) it wuld be good if he "got over it" and did the research himself.

JMHO
