Thanks for any advice.

are u sure january sat is acceptable?

Better than the avg Harvard College applicant, but there are still 5 like you for each spot. No one has a great chance, period.

You are as fun as a box of juicy peaches. I like peaches. So there, I say you've got a good shot.

January 26

Last SAT I and SAT II testing date for candidates.

^From Harvard. Harvard College Admissions Office: Prospective Students

Thanks, but I'm still really hoping :(

Your SAT I score is sent with your SAT II scores. All scores from any SAT you have taken is sent.

Good shot, but that SAT1 is unavoidable. You have to submit it along with SAT2 scores.

Where else are you applying?

You sound like a very bright kid and your AP scores are very good. GPA isn't stellar for Harvard, but you have a lot of panache and sound very likable. SAT could be a problem since 33 ACT is very good but Harvard gets a lot of 34, 35, and 36s. Don't know if it is strong enough to offset the SAT. Probably wouldn't count on it, but it could happen.....

Your thread is called "Chances for Ivies," does that mean you're applying to other Ivies besides Harvard? Your chances for HYP are very small, but obviously, as you go more toward Cornell, they get increasingly better. Not to say that Cornell is easy to get in to (although my brother did get in to it as a transfer student from a Community College), but it's more realistic than Harvard.

Going by collegeboard, your ACT is above average (not great, but above average), your GPA/rank is solid (can't compare it to the average since it's not published), but your EC's are sub-par. The 4's on those AP's will hurt as well.

^ Woah woah woah, I don't think a 4 on an AP exam can hurt at all. I doubt it's even a big factor. I've seen people with like 3's get into Ivies.

Anyway, Reticulum, I like you! I hope you get in. Just study for the SAT and take it again in January. Good luck!

PS- what is Envirothon? something to do with the environment I'm guessing? I'm a big environmentalist so just thought I'd ask b/c I've never heard of it
