Chances for Ivy??? Be honest.

Hello everybody. My name is Mr. Dominguez.

I would like some feedback from my fellow, intelligent peers on my chances to being accepted into Ivy League schools. I was encouraged by my colleague at the NSSNCP to post here.

My ACT scores are fair, I got a 35.75 on it so it was rounded up to a 36 but I might want to re-take it just for the sake of knowing I completed the test perfectly. I never have taken the SAT because my parents simply won't allow me to since it is "dishonorable" to them.

My Weighted GPA is 4.325 (4.0 U/W), but I've only taken 15 AP courses throughout high school so unfortunately I wish I could have done better! :|

My extracurricular activities involve being Key Club President, "Treasurer of the Asian and Latino-beared Grants Funds" at our school, and finally I am the co-founder of the NSSNCP (the National Society of Sophomoric Naturalistic Cetacean Protectors).

In terms of sports, I currently am the primary coordinator of our county's Bowling league where all of the great players compete if that will affect my chances. Is anyone aware of anything similar at schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, and Stanford? My safety is Vanderbilt.

I truly do appreciate your feedback.

~ Jos

lmao

is this the kind of preppy ppl at the ivies?

Excuse me? Do you know who you are speaking to?

I’ll have you know I run a business that is the finest in the country at fixing broken vases.

is this a joke?

No sir, I am being entirely serious at this given moment in time.

I am afraid typed words can not appropriately nor efficiently convey the true meaning of what I wish to speak. They lack the proper tone and vocal frequencies necessary to get a good response in return usually.

hey jibs, r u mr. dominguez’s manservant or something? sounds very much like it…

@jibs
i got 800 on sat writing… the object of my sentence is “the kind” which is a singular noun. thus “is this the kind” demonstrates correct object-verb agreement.

and yes jayjay, this is definitely, definitely a joke. i think jibs and mr. doms is actually just one person with 2 accounts…

who’s more likely a ■■■■■?

me with 128 posts and like 20 threads or ur master, mr. dumb, with 2 posts…
if u cant figure this out, i suggest u go back to helping mr. dumb fix vases…

its very very curious to me that:

both JIBBY and mr. dom joined cc on Feb. 26, 2010.
both jibby and mr. dom has less than 10 posts
jibby and mr. dom are NEVER online at the same time…

u connect the dots…

i’m not the one named pretentiouspi…

Guys, this is enough arguing. Let’s return to the original discussion of this thread. What do you think my chances are?

uh, just raise ur act by 0.25 and u might stand a decent chance

;p
lol Jiblix…speak for yourself…you sound like a truck driver

oh yea and PretentiousPi…i would work on the EC’s…leadership positions…and work experience…although you have excellent test scores…you have no work experience watsoever…you don’t have anything that really stands out…most people have your stats

PretentiousPi, I would also suggest adding more impressive ECs to your list. Maybe something along the lines of climbing Mt Everest or curing cancer…?

hehehe, ■■■■■■: gotta love them.

First time on the chance forum in half a year (stupid scholarship apps are killing me…), and I have to say this thread thoroughly has amused me. This poster has obviously been on CC for a LONG TIME!!!

Broken glass vase repair business… LOL too good!!!

yeah i no eh? i just dont get ■■■■■■… what do they get out of it?

***, what happened to jibby’s posts?? did he delete them intentionally?

PrententiousPi, I’m giving you 40/60 odds of admissions into one or more ivy league school. You’re academics are fantastic, but as lobster said, your ECA’s aren’t as good as you might want them to be.
Unless you’re the child of an almumnus/a, your chances of admission are always somewhat bleak I’m afraid.
