Hello everybody. My name is Mr. Dominguez.

I would like some feedback from my fellow, intelligent peers on my chances to being accepted into Ivy League schools. I was encouraged by my colleague at the NSSNCP to post here.

My ACT scores are fair, I got a 35.75 on it so it was rounded up to a 36 but I might want to re-take it just for the sake of knowing I completed the test perfectly. I never have taken the SAT because my parents simply won't allow me to since it is "dishonorable" to them.

My Weighted GPA is 4.325 (4.0 U/W), but I've only taken 15 AP courses throughout high school so unfortunately I wish I could have done better! :|

My extracurricular activities involve being Key Club President, "Treasurer of the Asian and Latino-beared Grants Funds" at our school, and finally I am the co-founder of the NSSNCP (the National Society of Sophomoric Naturalistic Cetacean Protectors).

In terms of sports, I currently am the primary coordinator of our county's Bowling league where all of the great players compete if that will affect my chances. Is anyone aware of anything similar at schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, and Stanford? My safety is Vanderbilt.

No sir, I am being entirely serious at this given moment in time.

I am afraid typed words can not appropriately nor efficiently convey the true meaning of what I wish to speak. They lack the proper tone and vocal frequencies necessary to get a good response in return usually.

hey jibs, r u mr. dominguez’s manservant or something? sounds very much like it…

@jibs
i got 800 on sat writing… the object of my sentence is “the kind” which is a singular noun. thus “is this the kind” demonstrates correct object-verb agreement.

oh yea and PretentiousPi…i would work on the EC’s…leadership positions…and work experience…although you have excellent test scores…you have no work experience watsoever…you don’t have anything that really stands out…most people have your stats

PretentiousPi, I would also suggest adding more impressive ECs to your list. Maybe something along the lines of climbing Mt Everest or curing cancer…?

First time on the chance forum in half a year (stupid scholarship apps are killing me…), and I have to say this thread thoroughly has amused me. This poster has obviously been on CC for a LONG TIME!!!

Broken glass vase repair business… LOL too good!!!

PrententiousPi, I’m giving you 40/60 odds of admissions into one or more ivy league school. You’re academics are fantastic, but as lobster said, your ECA’s aren’t as good as you might want them to be.
Unless you’re the child of an almumnus/a, your chances of admission are always somewhat bleak I’m afraid.
