So i'm going to be a freshman at a state college in the fall.
i'm positive about transferring as the business program in my state school isn't too good.
I messed up in high school, and ended with an 86 average. (although my last three semesters were all 91s)
My SAT isn't exactly top notch: 1980.
let's say i end up with a 4.0 first term freshman year of college.
what are my chances of transferring into any of the Ivies or Stanford as a sophomore transfer? to word it better, how stupid is it to attempt to transfer to any of those schools?
i really like stanford, brown, upenn, and columbia, but I know my chances are slim.
also, i am aware that besides Cornell AEM and Penn Wharton, the other ivies lack amazing business programs, but i hear that the connections are stellar just because they are ivies.
I just want some opinions before i blow a couple hundreds on apps.
Would a junior transfer benefit me more? Which ivies should i bother trying at?
Or should I just stop focusing on these tough schools and strive for USC (the only non-ivy/stanford school that i would love to go to).
any advice would be appreciated!!

I’m going to be honest. It’s a longshot for you. Those schools hardly accept any transfers, and unless you have some really distinguishing qualities, it is unlikely that you would be able to be accepted.

If you are looking to transfer to a school with a better business program, why don’t you research individual schools instead of going with the “brand names?”
