What are my chances for Ivy or MIT, Carnegie Mellon? Does my few ECs or low GPA (3.75)
affect my chances?

I think MIT is more of a reach because of its technical specialization. However, your standardized test scores are great. If you are very dedicated to your ECs, then that should be enough. Is that your weighted GPA?

I think you have a solid chance at the Ivies and CM.

Your GPA and EC’s will hurt you.

^^^ gpa isn’t a 3.75? its a 3.65. The chances are slim with a 3.65 uw. If thats weighted then you have no shot at ANY IVY. Just because you have a 2400 doesnt mean you will go to an ivy. thousands get rejected with PERFECT EVERYTHING. and you dont stand out with your few ecs

i don’t think the gpa is a huge issue. Hopefully you’ll get a 3.9 senior year. the freshman year won’t be weighted as much as the other 3, and the upward trend is a good sign for colleges. just because people with 4.0s are rejected doesn’t mean you’ll be rejected, either (^^ as he said, although a higher gpa would be nice). you should work on the extracurriculars tho. they don’t really show leadership or really require to much talent to be a part of (they are somewhat selective, and if you show commitment they might possibly be sufficient.) do a good job on your actual application, and you have an okay chance. chance me back please http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/727283-chance-offer-advice.html#post1062706944

If your GPA is 3.65 uw but your SAT’s are really good like 2350~2400 and 750+ on SAT II’s would you still have a shot at ivy?
