<p>Rising senior from a competitive high school in PA...</p>

<p>SAT superscore: 2270 (690 CR, 800 M, 780 W)
I've taken it twice with a 2180 the first time and 2240 the second time.
ACT: 35 on my only sitting
SAT Subject: Math II-800, US History-790, World History-730</p>

<p>AP Scores: All 5's on Calc BC, Stats, English Lang & Comp, US history, World history</p>

<p>GPA: 4.17 (APs get 4.4, honors get 4.2 for A's)
Class rank: top 10% (is what gets reported but its more like top 3-4%)</p>

<p>Senior Schedule:
AP Physics B & C, AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Gov AP Lit & Comp, and IB Spanish
*I finished all the math available at my school..</p>

<p>Recommendations: Won't be much better than the average unfortunately.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Class Officer- elected treasurer for all 4 years
JETS- Member for 3 year regional winning team
Math Competition Club- captain in senior year, 2x top 10 finisher in the state
National Honor Society- elected VP for junior and senior years
Comedy Show- sketch writer, co-head writer for senior year
Quiz Bowl- only in 10th grade, advanced to National history bowl
Dabbled in debate club (the club folded), student ambassador (only for freshman), science fair, physics olympics, and mini-THON.</p>

<p>Community Service:
Over 250 hours at a children's museum, hospital, United Way, and for Odyssey of the Mind.
Semifinalist for Prudential Spirit of the Community Award
Recipient of President's Volunteer Service Award</p>

<p>Work:
Paid intern at doctor's office this summer
Currently interviewing for a position as a math tutor</p>

<p>So, if you stuck with all of that, what are my chances for Johns Hopkins, Cornell, University of Chicago, Penn, Northwestern, Case Western, and Penn State Schreyer's??</p>

<p>You’ve got a great shot at all of these schools. Everything’s there–great scores, GPA in the upper area, awesome EC’s. Write stellar essays and you’re a sure thing, IMO</p>

<p>It’s overkill to take the SATs again when you’re over a 2250. It’s gonna look like you are score obsessed. You don’t want that. Also, a 35 is another good score and even if a 2270 needed to be improved (it wouldn’t in a million years) the 35 would compensate. You look good for all schools, good luck!</p>

<p>Ur SATs and SAT 2s are good enough for pretty much anything. So is your GPA. I wouldnt call your ECs amazing, but they are definitely very good. Assuming you write a good essay, I’d say you have a 40% chance for those top schools (northwestern, cornell, penn, and Uchicago), and an 80% chance at the others.</p>

<p>Thanks everyone! Specifically if I go ED to Johns Hopkins though, would I be able to get in?? And is it worth going ED there?</p>

<p>If you applied ED to Johns Hopkins, I’d be pretty surprised if you didn’t get in. Just use your ACT instead of your SAT, as your ACT equates to about a 2340 SAT. As for the other colleges, you definitely have a great shot at them too, especially with some good essays.</p>
