Chances For Job at Big 4 or NY Financial Firm

Drexel University
Major: Finance and Accounting
GPA: 3.3
1 Finance Co-op at Johnson and Johnson

I want to work on wall street or a firm where I can work in investing: IB, HF, Trading, Corporate accounting, or anything in the financial industry. I love the stock market, investing, and analyzing financial statments.

Could you chance me please? and also give advice and what I should do next? I have about 2 years left and the option to do another 6 month co-op.

This is more of a college admission chance board and members who post on here may not be able to answer your question as well as you’d like. Try a different board on CC or different website maybe.

This is the first non-college related chance thread I’ve seen on this site. Kudos man, kudos.

As for this job, you seem to have some good credentials so I don’t see why not. I say you do another co-op and try and build some connections for the future. For the next co-op, try and find a firm to intern at, maybe it will be better for said connection building.
I guess if GPA is a big deal for job opportunities, then maybe try and get that up by a few decimals, but your GPA is pretty good now so don’t sweat it.

Good Luck, man!

Thanks for your reply moon, I really appreciate it. I graduated HS in 06 and should have finished college this year, but can graduate next year if I drop my second major in finance and dont do another coop.

Do you think I should stay the extra 2 year to finish the 2nd coop and major or just graduate next year with acc major. I feel like my chances of getting into a big 4 or investment firm are slim b/c of my mediocre GPA, 1 coop, and not much E/C besides 2 business clubs at my school. I also fell the fact that I am 1-2 yrs behind my HS class will be a problem b/c it looks bad.

Here are my options below:
Drexel University
Major: Accounting and Finance
GPA 3.3
1 Co-Op at Johnson and Johnson

a. 1 yr - Accounting Major only and graduate in 5 quarters?
b. 1.5 yr - Accounting + Finance Major and graduate in 6 quarters?
c. 2 yr - Accounting + Finance Major and graduate in 8 quarters including 1 more co-op?

I graduated HS in 06 and I should have finished college this year. I want to work on wall street or anywhere I can work with investments/stock market.

Could you please tell me what the best thing to do is? Does anybody have any tips for where I should look for advice b/c my college counselor is not very knowledagble/helpful.
