Hi, I’m a senior in high school and I was wondering if anyone could please take the time to chance me for Johns Hopkins’ biomedical engineering program. I would apply early decision and I’m a recruited athlete, so I’m not sure how much that helps.

I know the program is really competitive to get into, and my numbers are good, but I realize that my extracurriculars are lacking. I don’t know how much my numbers can make up for that or how important extracurriculars are considered…. I spent my summers basically playing basketball and not in a lab or anything. It’s gotten me to the point that the coach is very interested in having me play for them. The only thing is I don’t know how much sway they would have with BME admissions . . . and I’ve sacrificed the time I could’ve used for the internships/volunteering/lab work and all that. I also wouldn’t qualify for any need-based financial aid. If someone could give me some idea on how my chances are even without the BME specific extracurriculars, I would greatly appreciate it because I need to decide if my chances are good enough that it’s worth turning down other offers from other schools to apply to BME here. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to read this!
