The JHU website says they accept the ACT with writing OR the SAT with 3 subject tests. With a 34 on the ACT, you are looking pretty good to me. You are in the top 25% of applicants. You wouldn’t need to retake the SAT or any subject tests. And if you’re in the top 1% of students at your rigorous public high school, that looks pretty good, too. According to CollegeBoard, only 84% of accepted students st JHU are in the top 10%. I suggest you stop worrying and start thinking about some great essay topics.

I understand that but I’m worried that many other students will have the same stats and everything which is why I will be retaking the SATs. I am working on my essays currently and once school starts again next week I will ask a few teachers to proof read them and ask for suggestions.

Nice grades and ACT score. You definately stand a good shot, seeing as your EC’s are pretty diverse. Soccer for 11 years is pretty cool. Im obviously not an authority but i guess now you just have to write some solid essays.

Thanks for the input, anyone else?

You have a chance at JHU. It is a super-compeitive school, esp. considering the glut of bio majors. If you are really considering applying to this school, make yourself standout. For example, your vice-president of MSU (awesome!). That will make you stand out from all the other minorities.

On a diff. note, why not apply to Californian Early Med programs? JHU does not have an accel. med. program, so factor that in as well.

Thanks for the responses. There’s something else I do in my free time, I’m a forum administrator for an online gaming website but I don’t know if I should include that in my application (i guess its a leadership role?). The site has a LOT of members. Also, I’m not interested very much in the direct med programs and JHU is my #1 choice.

Any for ideas?
